Porcupine Tree The Incident Real, Dark and Deep

Posted on 20. Aug, 2009 by Patrick Daniels.

Porcupine Tree is set to release their tenth studio album entitled The Incident. And this unique album will release on September 22 in a 2 CD set by Roadrunner Records. Being billed as more of a musical statement than an album this 55 minute musical event is something of a story.

A surreal look at beginnings and endings that actually was conceived when Wilson was caught in a traffic jam and was driving past a multi vehicle accident on the side of the road. There was a sign saying there was a Police Incident and from that point out the word stuck. Wilson couldn’t help but think that the word incident didn’t really do justice to the trauma suffered by those in the incident and how their lives would be irrevocably changed.

Each song from The Incident album is directly related to a media reported incident trying to bring it into the first person for a more realistic and humanizing perspective of these issues that are life changing and effect people forever and yet are so casually reported by the media. Some of the incidents that are documented in the album include a family that terrorizes a neighborhood, teenage girls being pulled from a religious cult, and a group of people on a fishing trip who find a body floating in the river.

There are also some tracks that are related to life changing experiences in Wilson’s life, including a song about his first love, and going forward with his music career. Wilson has written for Porcupine Tree in the past and was excited to do so again, as he knows that they are able to do incredible things with his songs. It was an honor for him to create this album, about life changing events, for such a talented group of artists.

This Grammy nominated UK group consists of Gavin Harrison, drummer, Colin Edwin, bass, Richard Barbieri, keyboard and Steven Wilson, guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer. “The Incident” is very anticipated by fans, and is said to be one of their most innovative sounds yet. The fabulous two disc collection is scheduled for a release date of September 15th.

Welcome Back Ms. Houston

Posted on 07. Aug, 2009 by Patrick Daniels.

Once upon a time, Whitney Houston was the greatest singer of all times. Her career was then overshadowed by drug abuse and many wondered if the talented artist inside her would ever shine again. Well, it has, and Whitney Houston has put her life back where it once was, and finished work and a new album. Many are claiming this is album, I Look To You, is going to be one of the most promises albums to hit stores in a very log time.

Whitney Houston had one of the most powerful voices of the 90’s. Her music was memorable and her ballads brought people to their knees, but many wonder what her comeback will bring. After a fifteen year absence, will this album be the first of many more, and or the final curtain call of Whitney Houston’s career.

Many are behind Whitney 100%! She was an icon, and had the greatest vocals in the business. Both the general public and those in the music industry are cheering her on and hoping for nothing but a successful return for Ms. Huston.

Her latest album, due to be released August 31st is titled I Look to You and it seems that truly every one is looking to her for something amazing. Will she fall flat or continue on in the tradition to which fans are accustomed. Well, it is yet to be determined but one thing is for sure many people have already pre-ordered her latest CD so they are banking on this artists success. Tracks for her latest album include Million Dollar Dill, Nothin But Love, Call You Tonight, title track I Look To You, Like I Never Left, A Song For You, Didn’t Know My Own Strength, Worth It, For the Lovers, I Got You, and Salute.

Her title track song is available for listening, at her official website, and I have to say her talent is still there, but she sounds like a much different Whitney. The song seems to look back on the trails she has faced in life, and how she over came them. Although she has a maturer sounding voice, she still delivers with wonderful vocals and inspiring lyrics.

Anxious Arctic Monkey Fans, Wait No More

Posted on 31. Jul, 2009 by Patrick Daniels.

Anxious fans, have been ecstatic, now that Arctic Monkeys, an English rock band, has just released their third album. There latest album is entitled, Arctic Monkeys Humbug, an it is truly an amazingly wonderful CD. I fell in love with Arctic Monkey, since the first time I heard “I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor”. Since then, I have purchased all there CD’s. The fact is, these CDs are not the type that you will be skipping from song to song.

Well, I must say that this is by far their best work to date. This third album was co-produced by Josh Homme, Queens of the Stone Age, and James Ford who plays the drums in Alex Turners The Last Shadow Puppets. This album is excellent and has a cast off perhaps of a sound that mimics more of Hendrix in Crying Lightning, a more psychedelic sound then their music of earlier days. The lyrics from this latest album have significantly evolved showing more of a stream of consciousness than ever before. Over time, Turners lyrics have become so much more impressive.

Thanks to the new technology advancements that are available, this album has a new spice, yet maintains that sound that fans have grown in love with. When I think about how this is a self make band, starting with a guitar that they each received for Christmas, it is astounding how great they are, and how much they have accomplished.

Track titles, from upcoming Artic Monkeys Humbug, include:

My Propeller

Crying Lightning

Dangerous Animals

Secret Door

Position Approaching

Fire and the Thud

Cornerstone

Dance Little Liar

Pretty Visitors

The Jewelers Hand

If you are a fan of the Arctic Monkeys, then this is an album that you will definitely want to add to your collection. It is the absolute best, that I have ever heard from the band, and with so many great songs, it is hard to even pin point one that will stand out above the rest.

BEATLES Hard Day’s Night CD ” Timeless Music Better Than Ever

If you are discussing music icon and legends, at the top of the list you will most likely find the Beatles. They are music legends and have a fan base that has continued to grown since their very first hit single. Each year new generation of Beatles fans emerge and lifetime fans reminisce.

If you could take a look into a music lovers heart you are sure to see John, Paul, George and Ringo in side. No matter if you are a die hard fan or someone that is not familiar to their music, BEATLES Hard Days Night, is a CD that you should pick up and will having you loving them and listen to the CD time and time again.

Hard Days Night includes tracks such as I Should Have Known Better, And I Love Her, Cant Buy Me Love and Hard Days Night, and was by far the most popular Beatles album to date. Although many believe that the Fab Four began down the legendary road earlier in their careers, others (including myself) tend to disagree and believe this album is where their legacy really began. After All, this was the first Beatles album that was completed created with original tracks.

Although this album has been available, on vinyl, since its original release, there is nothing compared to listen to it on CD. The crisp and clear sound quality will make you think you are listening to it for the first time, and the CD format will bring in a whole new, and younger, generations of fans.

This whole album bring forth a feeling of excitement and joy. It goes without saying that Lennon and McCarthy have a sound that is yet to be matched by any other in the business.

Michael Jackson Motown 50 Mixes a New Twist on Some Iconic Favorites

Posted on 27. Jul, 2009 by Patrick Daniels.

Michael Jackson, The King of Pop, has become more iconic in death than he was when he was alive. As the world is grieving over his death, his sounds are growing more and more popular. A man who has lived and died in the spotlight has hits from long ago and thanks to Motown, his very first label, he has just released a new album with old songs. Now because he switched labels back in his teens, these are his original hits from long ago.

Motown has plans to release “Michael Jackson Motown 50 Mixes” on July 27,2009 as a tribute to Michael Jackson and his unforgettable, iconic, music career. The tracks, on this album, are a collection from classic Motown songs, and is truly an exceptional album and the perfect farewell album for Jackson.

Now dont be confused by the title as this is a 50 year celebration of his music and not a 50 track album. The original songs as performed by Michael back then are part of this new release album include all time favorites like Ben, Ill Be There, and ABC but with a new twist. These are a combination of mixes some stripped and some minus for a whole new flare to the sound of these great classic tunes.

And with songs like With a Childs Heart and Never Can Say Goodbye it is a touching tribute to this music legends untimely demise. Berry Gordy, founder of Motown records, described the loss in these words I am shocked beyond words. Its like a dream – a bad dream. This cannot be! How can Michael Jackson not be here? He had nothing but wonderful things to say about the icon and even told reporters that Jackson was like a son to him.

Although Michael Jackson will not be around to enjoy the success of this album, his impact on the entertainment industry is everlasting. Michael Jackson was an icon in life and has become a legend in death. Michael Jackson, The King of Pop will surely be missed!

Movie Trailer Review Of Bruno

Posted on 15. Jul, 2009 by Henrey Koperpark.

I saw the movie trailer of Bruno and went to see this movie.

I know there are fans out there that will say Sacha Baron Cohen is genius at what ever he does. To me, not the case.

I know there are fans out there that will say that Sacha Baron Cohen is a genius at whatever he tries. To me however, that is not the case.

To me what made Borat funny is even in all his wildness he had a certain amount of innocence about him, coming to another country, exploring cultures.

Borat was good comedy due to his interaction with different people and generally goofing around with them. I believe that was funny… Bruno, for the most part was not funny.

Other than those scenes, Bruno is very forgettable. Die hard movie fans will probably love it, and will more than likely think he is a genius. But it’s not for me.

It was just sexual dancing flopping his dong about, and seeing how far he could push the sexual humor. Bruno did have a few good comedy parts, the parts where he was really interacting with people instead of obvious pre planned scenarios. The hunting scene was quite funny, as well as parts of the karate sequence and the national guard scene.

Other than those various scenes, this movie unfortunately is very forgettable for me. Die hard fans will probably love it, and probably think he is a genius. Bit it’s not a movie I like.

Bruno was just a little better than Year One, and you read how much I hated that one. If you missed my review visit http://www.movietrailertalk.com/year-one-review. The best thing that came out of this movie, I am now off the hook for dragging my wife to Year One. We’re now even on bad movie choices… Good for me!

Girls Waits For Boy, No More – He’s Just Not That Into You

Posted on 07. Jul, 2009 by Patrick Daniels.

The preview comes on, “He’s Just Not That Into You” right away, a men will turn to his wife or girlfriend and exclaim, “Chick Flick’”! Okay, yes it is a story about relationships, and the unspoken words of dating and brake up and the typical male afraid of commitment. however, it is also full of laughter, truth and a cast of big names that will have both the ladies and the males enjoying ever minute of this film.

This movie contains some top actors in the field, including Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck, and Drew Barrymore, who honestly is an amazing actress. She looks really good in this movie, a little more mature looking, but always with that sweet na-vet that gives her that little girl like charm. Her line about getting rejected in 7 different technologies is just hilarious, as with things changing so much in the dating scene, it is truly possible to be rejected in many different ways, these days.

The great things was that in addition to the humor, making light of sometimes awkward situations and painful dating issues, there was an underlying understanding to it all that struck home as more of relationship advice then something that you would find in a sitcom. However humorous each situation was it was addressed with a certain amount of compassion and understanding that can only come from someones own real life experiences. The quality of acting was good and although Aniston is not amazing, she pulls off her role in this film pretty well, and her and Affleck work well together so it is nice to see them paired up.

Hes just not that Into You is based on a book by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, which addresses the social mores in our society in the dating realm with humor and humility. This big screen adaptation is an incredible way to bring the dating world into the lime light, allowing all those who have ever had their day of rejection to find some humor and some underlying meaning in it all.

This is a movie that once you will see it, you will watch it over and over again. I have already watched it with my husband, my sister, my mother, myself and a group of friends. Each time I seem to laugh more and more as I catch more and more funny things that they say, do, or faces they make.

Fans Will “Self Destruct” If 50 Cent Delays Again

Posted on 25. Jun, 2009 by Patrick Daniels.

With a style as unique as he is, notably one of the best rap artists of all times, has finally released his newest album, Before I Self Destruct. Originally scheduled for release in time for Christmas 2008, the delay in the release date is just making fans anticipate the release of this 50 Cents fourth and possibly his best album to date.

Many have criticized this rappers work for being too similar to others in the genre. But for those who truly know and understand his unique style and sometimes over the top lyrics, it is more of his social commentary on the world. Music is meant to evoke feelings and his work gets fans and critics excited. Some say that his lyrics go past the point that they should, however most feel that it is just an expression of freedom of speech and that it is the underlying message that is important.

No matter fan or foe, you can not argue the fact that his music,, even the G rated versions, are by far some of the best of today. His newest, and most anticipated released, Before I Self Destruct, has been postponed for the past several months. Each time the release date gets close they postpone it again, which has fans skeptical that it will actually make the June 30th release date this time.

The original delay in November 2008 was said to have occurred because 50 Cent wanted to get his singles into position, and out into the public forum. Now there is speculation that the delay was due to the pending albums of Eminem and Dr. Dre, that had been progressively leaking to the press.

Whether the delays were for legitimate reasons or for a publicity stunt, we will never know. What we do know is that fans are eagerly awaiting the June 30th release with high hopes that 50 Cent does not postpone the date again.

Looking To Watch The Brothers Bloom For Free?

Posted on 14. May, 2009 by Jack Simmons.

The movie The Brothers Bloom is a riotous comedy about the world’s best con-men and their final career ending adventure. The movie features a star studied and award winning cast, which if it’s anything to go by, should stand this movie in good stead. three of the casts four leading parts are played by Oscar nominated actors.

In the brothers world, you can never take anything for granted, because nothing is ever the same as it first appears. Many a fortune has been ‘rescued’ from their owners over the years, but there is always room for one last big job before retirement – their last job involves swindling a beautiful heiress which turns in to a very fruitful adventure.

Throughout their lives the brothers have relied solely on their own devices. From the time they were fostered in to care homes as children, up until today as wealthy confidence tricksters, they have shared everything equally. I’m really looking forward to being able to free download The Brothers Bloom, this is the type of movie I love and it’s guaranteed to get me belly laughing.

Because one of the brothers, Bloom, is keen to quit the business, he agrees to undertake one final scam by developing a ‘relationship’ with a bored heiress played by Rachel Wiesz. But as a genuine romance begins to form, Bloom becomes reluctant to take advantage of her. By this stage though, Wiesz’s character is hooked on the thrills and it becomes difficult to back out.

The movie has been written and is directed by Rian Johnson who was responsible for Brick and Looper. The cast is made up of several Oscar winners and the Academy Award nominated Rinko Kikuchi who starred in Babel and The Taste of Tea. The Oscar winners in the cast are Rachel Weisz who won for her part in The Constant Gardener, and Adrien Brody who won for his role in the movie The Pianist.

May 15th 2009 sees the partial release of The Brothers Bloom, followed by the wide release on 29th May. Comedy lovers will get on with this film, especially if they are fans of either rachel Weisz, Adrien Brody or Mark Ruffalo. Something tells me that this isn’t going to be an enormous box-office success, but it might just be one of those movies that stays under the radar.
