Have you ever stopped to consider exactly how much you do or don’t know about playing the piano? Consider the following information and compare it to your own knowledge.

Are you familiar with the song Auld Lang Syne? If you are, then you can learn to play it on the piano easily and quickly. Many individuals want to learn to play the piano and one of the most important lessons is to learn the piano notes.

Take a look at the piano keys and pay attention to the black notes. Auld Lang Syne is played on five separate black keys.

Some say that piano notes are difficult to learn. But expert piano players say that if only you put your heart to it, you can learn all the notes quickly.

Whether you enlist the help of a piano teacher, or are learning the piano notes by yourself with a book, CD, or DVD, the first thing you need to do is learn the name of each note on the piano, including both black and white keys.

If your goal is to learn to identify every note, you will need to have your own piano at home. Start shopping for one now if you don’t own one. You can’t effectively learn piano notes only by envisioning a piano in your head; to really learn the notes, you’ll need to hear the sounds they make and touch the piano keys. This will make is faster and easier to learn.

You will also need to use visualization techniques to imagine the location of the keys while you learn the notes. You will need to memorize the notes in order to be able to read the Grand Staff, which is like a map of all the piano notes. Knowing how to identify piano notes immediately will help you more easily understand the chord lessons.

As an example, you may play the first seven tab notes, which are CDEFGAB. This is known as the C-major scale.

It often happens that the most important things concerning a certain subject aren’t always readily apparent. Read on for a clearer picture.

As you complete your lessons, you’ll learn about other scales as well, and the notes that comprise them. To play the piano well, you must memorize all of the piano keys, but you’ll learn the easiest notes first, of course.

After you’ve got a handle on the easy notes, you’ll progress to more difficult ones. Be aware that you need to continually practice the notes that you have already learned, since you’ll use all of these when playing more challenging pieces.

If you really just want to play basic music on your piano, then at a minimum, you must learn at least two different keys for each scale. Let’s say you’re playing a major C chord.

C, E, G are played all at once to form this chord and make the most basic form of piano music. But, if your goal is to read more challenging musical pieces, you must memorize each individual note. Soon, you’ll be able to play like an expert.

So you see, learning each piano note is not a game. It is a difficult task especially for those who have memorization problems. Try to create a piano picture inside your mind and tell the note of each key.

Take a couple of minutes each day to do this. Don’t stop until you have memorized all of the piano notes. Hold on to the mental picture of the piano in your mind, since that can help you down the road.

Learn piano notes at an early stage, as soon as you start your piano lessons. This way, you can learn the chords much easier. Playing the piano is fun but you have to be patient.

Now that wasn’t hard at all, was it? And you’ve earned a wealth of knowledge, just from taking some time to study an expert’s word on playing piano.
