Why You Should Teach Your Child To Play Piano

There is nothing more mentally stimulating then being able to teach your child to play piano or any musical instrument. There are so many benefits to teaching them to play. There are studies that have found that children have benefited emotionally, physically and intellectually by learning to play an instrument, and more specifically the piano.
Playing the piano creates an emotional outlet for the child. No matter what the child is feeling, he is able to let it out through his music. If he is happy you will hear it in his music and if he is sad you will hear it as well. Anger may come through as a loud banging noise that sounds horrendous, but even this is good therapy for the child. You can consider the piano to be an emotional counselor for your child.
Piano lessons are also very good for your child physically. Your child will have to sit in a straight upright position for the duration of his lessons and has nothing to lean back on. This will be a reminder to him of good posture positions and may discourage him from slouching. He will also have to use his arms and fingers, and if you think that this is not exercise, then think again.
The first time practicing the piano will show you how many muscles you have in your hand and fingers and you may feel very sore until you have played the piano a some more. The child will not be able to fidget during his lessons, and just having to stay still and let his fingers, hands and arms do the playing is an exercise for the child. Remember, just because something looks simple does not mean it is. Especially at different age levels.
Piano lessons will also raise your child spiritually. Children have very deep thoughts and emotional experiences that we as adults can never understand. Creating music will create a bond between the child and the piano that will hit him very deeply. Many people that play the piano talk about the value of discipline, hard work and schedule structure when they discuss the piano, but these are really secondary to the spiritual uplifting your child will experience as you teach your child to play piano.
You can teach your child to play piano at home. You do not need to go out and get a fancy instructor that will end up doing the same things that you can do. All you really need to do is download a course geared towards adults and children and you will be able to teach your child right away.
